Content Rules
These rules govern the content of the guidance a facility publishes through this service. By publishing a guide, the facility agrees to these rules.
The Japanese version is the authoritative text.
1. The guidance belongs to the facility
The final content of the text, photos, and translations is the responsibility of the facility that published it. We generate AI translation drafts, but only what the facility has reviewed and confirmed, language by language, is ever published.
Please take particular care with guidance touching on medical care, safety, disasters, law, or contracts. Machine translation is not a guarantee of safety.
2. Photos
A published guide page can be viewed by anyone who knows the URL or has the QR code. Photos are published exactly as taken, so please:
- Do not photograph people. If someone unavoidably appears, obtain their consent.
- Do not photograph documents, guest registers, or screens showing guest information.
- Avoid photos in which other guests' belongings, licence plates, or room numbers are legible.
What you usually need to show is a button to press or a place to put something. Framing the shot to exclude people and paperwork is normally enough.
3. Other people's rights
If a guide includes any of the following, the facility must obtain the necessary permission first.
- Text, photos, illustrations, or maps created by others
- Other companies' logos, trademarks, or characters
- Photos that simply reproduce notices posted by other companies
4. What may not be published
- Content that breaks the law or encourages crime
- Content that harms a specific person or organisation, or that is discriminatory
- Information identifying an individual without their consent
- Guidance that is factually wrong (prices, opening hours, availability)
- Advertising unrelated to the facility's guidance
5. Reporting an infringement
If a published guide infringes your copyright, trademark, likeness rights, or privacy, please tell us through the contact form. This is our designated contact point for infringement notices.
Please include:
- The URL of the page concerned (shown after scanning the QR code)
- Which part infringes which right
- That you are the rights holder or their agent
- Your contact details
On receiving a notice we will promptly unpublish the guide and notify the facility that published it. The facility may submit a counter-notice explaining why it believes there is no infringement and ask for the guide to be restored.
We are not in a position to decide whether a right exists. If the parties cannot resolve the matter, please consider legal proceedings.
6. Repeat infringement
If a facility is the subject of three infringement notices that are all found to be well-founded, we may suspend or terminate all or part of that facility's use of the service.
7. Reports from guests
Guests viewing a guide page can also report a problem through the contact form. There is a link at the bottom of the page as well.
We review every report and, where necessary, unpublish the guide at our own discretion. We never pass a reporter's name to the facility.
8. How these rules fit
Your contract for using this service is Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement. This page supplements it with terms about published content, which it does not cover. Personal data is handled according to our Privacy Policy.
